  Feature Article Writing
  Description
A feature is an extended piece of writing that provides in depth information that is relevant to your audience. Features can be derived from white papers, existing case studies and applications, research and development projects. Features position a company as an ‘authority’ on the subject covered. (Don’t think there is enough detail for a feature article? Then see details about case history/application releases.)

Editors will be more inclined to publish factual features, rather than ones that are disguised advertisements.

Features are between 800 to 1500 words in length. They are written in a journalistic style and offered on a targeted sector-exclusive basis because the selected editor will want to be the first in their media sector to cover the story. Subsequent placements are possible after the exclusive period as expired.

Benefits
Features explore big issues and help to develop a deeper discussion and understanding with your target audience. They also help the positioning of the company or brand. Feature articles are also indexed and archived for easy access by readers and therefore help you to achieve even greater prominence. Reprinted feature articles can also be used in direct mail and other forms of promotion.

Action

Use the feature form to brief us. The simple questions will help you to give us the basic details we need to write an effective feature article. We will then prepare more detailed questions and research the subject thoroughly.

Standard service: up to one month to complete. A firm estimate of time will be agreed before commencement.

Placing a feature is a complex procedure of researching media targets prioritising them and negotiating with editors to ascertain their interest. Then the text and images need submitting in the style required by the publication. The process can take around a month before all possible targets are processed.

The above choices give greater flexibility. If you want us to both write and place a feature article then you need both service components. However, if you have a feature already written, then you only need select the placement component. Likewise, if you have already agreed use of a feature with an editor, then you will only need the writing service.

Good quality supporting photography is important. It is FREE to upload pictures with your briefing form. We will make them available to editors on the CLICKintoPR web site. A picture greatly enhances the chances of publication.

Limitations
Don’t expect one feature to change the world. Perceptions and attitudes change only slowly. People need to be exposed to your message repeatedly. Consider a series of features that have consistent themes so that messages are reinforced over time.
