Are my
credit card details safe?
All transactions are handled through Worldpay, one of
the worlds largest online merchanting operations. They
have extensive safeguards including fraud protection.
That is why they are the chosen donation processor by
leading charities such as Oxfam, PDSA and the NSPCC.
What is a media outlet?
A media outlet is any trade or consumer magazine,
newspaper, broadcast TV or radio station/programme, web
site, newsletter, technical journal and so on that
accepts outside material for editing and use.
What is a press pack?
Most exhibitions provide a news room for attending
journalists. In this room exhibitors are allowed to
place promotional literature and news releases about
their products and services. It provides an easy
location for the journalists to gather information from
which they write articles about the exhibition and
products and services on show. The press pack writing
service is priced for the writing of three items for
your press pack – around 300-400 words each. You can
upload three pictures to support the words. As well as
displaying the pack on the CLICKintoPR.com web site, we
will supply you with a MS Word document from which you
can print packs on to your own stationery for the show.
Editors and journalists can then download the
information digitally from the CLICKintoPR.com web site.
What kind of news stories get
published?
Think news. We live in an age of information overload.
Editors and specialist journalists respond most
positively to items that will appeal to their readers –
about things that are new and innovative, relate to
current issues and interests and have some intellectual
or emotional impact.
How do I know if my news is
interesting enough?
Just have a look at the type of media outlets you want
to target to see the stories they carry. Think about the
issues behind what you want to say. If you wish to
promote a product for example think of the experiences
this delivers, the problems it solves, the tangible and
intangible benefits.
Why can’t I use capital letters to
emphasise my product name?
Presenting written news for editing follows some simple
rules. Using all capital letters, bolding, underlining,
italics and so on for names or other text is not
appropriate. Initial capital letters are not used on
titles such as managing director. Dots (.) are not used
in abbreviations, M.P. becomes MP. There are many
conventions we need to follow in our written work,
please remember when proofing your news release that we
may have altered your text to present it to editors
correctly.
I want to issue press releases in
other countries can you do it?
Yes. Due to translation costs and the possibility that
there may be few publications in some countries we would
need to do an initial assessment. Please complete the
general enquiry form
regarding your requirements and we will e-mail a quote to
you.
Can you guarantee that my story will
be used?
No. Acceptance of press release material is always at
the editor’s discretion. Good news values and high
quality pictures improve the chances of success.
How do I know if my news release has
been published?
The best way to know who is writing about you – in print
or online – is to use a professional reading service
that will research this for you. They will even search
for information written about competitors or any topic
you are interested in. The cost will depend on the
sophistication of your search criteria. CLICKintoPR.com
has negotiated a competitive rate for users with
New Media Intelligence, who will search the internet
for online uses of your release and forward you details
of where they can be found. This optional service can be
selected when you place your order. The costs for
offline reading services tends to be prohibitively
expensive compared with the low cost of using
CLICKintoPR.com. Try Romeike
www.romeike.com.
Are there any limitations on what I
can publish?
Yes. We will not accept material that is clearly
defamatory, dishonest, indecent or illegal. A full and
immediate refund will be given where projects are
rejected.
What about copyright?
Editors will not publish releases or pictures unless
they are free of copyright. For this reason, you must
either own any material you send to us, or have the
owners consent for its use. By sending pictures and
materials to us, you accept that you have full consent
to use them for purposes of public relations and
liability for this rests with you.
Why don’t you e-mail images to
editors with the text?
Editors need high-resolution pictures. They do not
appreciate their e-mail inboxes being filled by large
file attachments. We send news releases to editors as
plain text in the e-mail message body. If you have
uploaded a picture, a reference link to the picture will
be given in the e-mail to the editor. They can then
download your image when it is convenient to them.
Are there any other services you
can offer?
Yes. We are happy to research and write copy for
newsletters, brochures and for other forms of promotion.
Please complete the
enquiry form outlining your requirements or e-mail
your brief to us at
moreinfo@CLICKintoPR.com and we will e-mail a quote
to you.
